Romanian Labor Market Trends
Over Half of Employees Seek Change
In the current context of the Romanian job market, a survey conducted by recruitment platform eJobs reveals that 56% of employees plan to change jobs in the next year. The main reasons for this trend are salaries they consider too low, lack of growth opportunities in current companies and toxic working environment.
EJobs surveyed 1,250 respondents employed between October and November 2023, gaining insight into the job dissatisfaction and desires of the Romanian workforce, reports Alephnews.ro.
Specifically, 59.7% of those surveyed cited salary as one of the main reasons for changing jobs, followed by lack of growth prospects in the current company (56.9%) and a work environment considered toxic (42.3%). 30% of respondents also indicated that they work excessively and feel exhausted, and 16.6% are dissatisfied with the inability to work remotely.
Employees' perceptions of 2023 vary: 23% described it as a difficult year, an equal number saw it as full of challenges, and 22% viewed it as a year filled with uncertainty. Only 31% had a positive perception of this year, seeing it as a year of growth or positivity.
Employees' plans for the near future include increasing salaries, getting a promotion, working from home in the long term, starting their own business or starting retraining. Conversely, 35% of respondents aspire to work at a multinational company, while 18% idealize an employer that permits remote working.
Interestingly, 27% of employees are satisfied with their current job and have no plans to make a change, and 17% are undecided about whether to change jobs soon.
