Forced evacuation from frontline districts of Kharkiv region: families with children have to leave 47 settlements
The authorities have also prepared evacuation routes and places for temporary accommodation of evacuees.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that on April 11, the Regional Defense Council decided to forcibly evacuate families with children from 47 frontline settlements.
"We are talking only about settlements close to the border with russia in Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv and Izium districts. According to our information, 182 children live in these settlements", the official wrote. He also noted that the city of Kharkiv is not included in the evacuation zone.
Syniehubov emphasized that the authorities have already identified evacuation routes and booked temporary accommodation for people. He also reminded that on March 26, he had already warned about the possibility of expanding the list of settlements to be evacuated.
According to media reports, russian security forces are convinced that the aggressor country may occupy Kharkiv, but the decision on a new large-scale offensive has not yet been made. At the same time, the Center for Countering Disinformation said that the information about russia's alleged preparations for an offensive on Kharkiv is not true. On April 1, Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, said that he saw no need to evacuate people from the city.
