Vitali Klitschko expresses concern about the possibility of a repeated invasion of the capital of Ukraine by russian troops

In a conversation with BILD, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko shared his thoughts on the constant threat from russia.

"Kyiv has been and remains a target for putin because the capital is the heart of the country," he said. Klitschko does not rule out that Kyiv may again be under the threat of a land offensive from russia.

At the same time, the mayor assured that the city is now much better prepared for possible attacks than before.

"But we are much better prepared for this than two years ago. If putin makes such a decision, it will be a bloody decision," Klitschko said.

Klitschko also emphasized the need to strengthen the defense of the skies over Kyiv.

"We urgently need more air defense systems, more anti-aircraft missiles!" he said.

The mayor also rejected any possibility of negotiations with russia, as suggested by the leader of the parliamentary faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Rolf Mützenich.

"This is the wrong attitude, instead we need more support. We will not give up any territories to russia. This cannot be a compromise," Klitschko emphasized.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on March 28 said that russia could launch a new offensive in Ukraine in late May or June this year.
