Video of Ukrainian UAV strike on Kuibyshev refinery in Samara appears

A video of an alleged Ukrainian drone attack on the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Samara, russia, which took place on the morning of March 23, has emerged.

The video was posted by Kommersant Volga.

"In the video, an airplane-type drone flies over the enterprise and then hits the target. At this time, the plant had already experienced an outbreak after another drone attack. Earlier it was reported that after the drone attack, a primary processing column caught fire at the plant. No one was injured as a result of the fire," the statement said.

The video was also shared by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army South, Serhiy Bratchuk. He noted that it is a "Lutyi" UAV.

Background: The Ukrainian-made Liutii attack drone was publicly announced in October 2022. At that time, it was reported about the intention to create a drone weighing 200 kg, which will be able to carry a warhead weighing 75 kg over a distance of more than 1 thousand km. In terms of power and range, this UAV was analogous to the Iranian Shahed-136. According to russian sources, the Lutyi has a wingspan of 6.7 m, a length of 4.4 m, and a takeoff weight of 250-300 kg.
