Ukrainian border guards detained a man with a fake passport at the entrance to Kyiv. He said that when he lost his old document, he ordered a new one online

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

"A passenger of one of the cars presented a document for inspection, in which the border guard immediately noticed the absence of security elements. During the questioning, the ID-card holder said that when he lost his passport, he urgently needed a new one, and he could not think of anything better than to find an ad on the Internet and ask for a new one," the statement said.

The dealers assured the man that everything was legal, and the document was included in the necessary registers. The price of the service was less than a thousand hryvnias, so the man did not even think that the document could be forged.

The young man was handed over to the National Police to establish all the circumstances of the offense, which was also reported under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps").

  • On March 17, it was reported that Ukrainian border guards stopped a resident of Kyiv who presented fake birth certificates of his children, allegedly his children, while crossing the border.
