Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that in the summer of 2024, the authorities will allow private vehicles to cross the Podil bridge crossing

This was reported by espreso.tv

"Currently, the contractor Avtostrada Group is building a tunnel under the railway embankment in Rusanivski Sady next to the Troyeschyna-2 city train station. It will connect the exit from the Podilskyi bridge crossing with a new road under the Troyeschyna high-speed tram roundabout," the statement said.

It is noted that the tunnel will be accessed from Roman Shukhevych Avenue, and the exit from the tunnel will be in the direction of Pyotr Vershigora Street. Journalists assume that in order to get to Podilskyi Bridge, cars from Vyhurivskyi and Troieshchyna districts will have to make a U-turn near the Sky Mall shopping center.

At the same time, this will allow partial closure of the road part of the Metro bridge for repairs. Ruslan Kandybor, head of the Department of Transport Infrastructure, says that the bridge will not be closed to cars.

"There is no threat to the metro overpass, but there are problems with car traffic. We will reinforce the bridge from below. During the work, we will narrow the lanes, shift traffic from one side to the other, but we will not completely block the road," Kandybor said.
  • On December 1, Kyiv opened the movement of special vehicles, emergency vehicles and passenger buses from the left bank to the right bank through the Podilsko-Voskresensky bridge crossing.
