Oschadbank and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to increase the volume of Polish investments in the Ukrainian economy
As part of its program of building international partnerships for the restoration and development of the Ukrainian economy, Oschadbank has joined the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (PUIG). Participation in this organization will contribute to the expansion of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, which aims, in particular, to attract Polish investments to Ukraine.
Despite some current difficulties in the field of economic cooperation, the cooperation between the two countries is and will continue to be an important factor in Ukraine's integration into the EU. It is known that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, approximately one in ten new businesses in Poland has been created by Ukrainian entrepreneurs. More than 3,000 Polish companies are currently operating in Ukraine.
"Poland has been and remains not just a friendly neighbor for Ukraine, but also an important strategic partner. We are grateful to our Polish friends for their cooperation and willingness to help build Ukraine during the full-scale aggression. We are already working together to support Ukrainian entrepreneurship and attract foreign investment to rebuild Ukraine. Therefore, Oschad's joining the ranks of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce is a logical step," said Sergiy Naumov, Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank.
With regard to specific areas of cooperation between Oschad and Polish partners, at the end of last year, the bank and the Polish export credit agency KUKE signed a memorandum aimed at deepening the participation of Polish business in supporting the Ukrainian economy. Under the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in the field of short-term financing of Polish exports, primarily intended for the reconstruction and development of the Ukrainian economy, and will also promote Polish investments in Ukrainian enterprises to provide long-term business financing. Special attention will be paid to supporting major infrastructure projects of the Ukrainian government and municipalities. Recently, as part of this partnership, a meeting was held with representatives of 11 EU export credit agencies to discuss intensifying cooperation between these agencies and Ukrainian business.
Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (PUIG) is one of the oldest bilateral chambers of commerce and industry in Poland and Ukraine. Since 1992, it has been working for the development of Polish-Ukrainian economic and cultural relations, with headquarters in Warsaw and Kyiv and 21 representative offices in Ukraine and Poland. It unites more than 500 Ukrainian and Polish companies.
