The press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine reported about this.

The manuscript collection "Songs of Will" was arranged in 1949. The rarity is a historical and documentary evidence of patriotism, sacrifice and bravery of the defenders of Ukraine. It was handed over to the museum by Major Volodymyr Danyliuk, secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, who now serves in the AFU Ground Forces.

"Today there is a double holiday here — Constitution Day and the presentation of an incredible artifact. The collection of songs from 1949 in its content is an unequivocal testimony to the continuity of generations and our century-long struggle for freedom and independence, because it contains Cossack, Haidamak, Streltsy and rebel songs, which are still heard today",  said the general director of the Museum of War Yuri Savchuk.

Vladimir Danyliuk said that this collection was taken from the cache by the Chekists, but it survived and was preserved, and at the beginning of the restoration of Ukraine's independence, Danyliuk was given the book by the former deputy head of the USSR Department of State Security in Volyn region Zinoviy Petrik.

"As soon as I took this collection in my hands, it became immediately clear to me that it should be kept in the valuable Museum of our state. And now after printing the facsimile edition of the songbook, I am happy to donate the handwritten original to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II", said Volodymyr Danyliuk.
