The power shortage situation will be challenging for 6-8 weeks
During an interview, Yasno CEO Sergei Kovalenko noted that domestic power generation is critically lacking, even maximum imports do not solve the problem
Kovalenko reported that domestic power generation is now so critically lacking that even maximum imports do not solve the problem. According to him, the energy system depends on solar and wind generation, so there are significant fluctuations during even one day.
He also noted that now there are repair (preventive) works at nuclear power plants, so some units are not working, which is a very significant factor. Kovalenko informed that in the next 6-8 weeks the deficit situation will be difficult. In addition to problems with generation, consumption growth is added.
A new logic of distribution between the regions of Ukraine has been working for several weeks already, which excludes the factor of critical infrastructure and others.
"There are a few more changes there that should be introduced and it will work", the Yasno head added.
"To plan one's life, one should assume that there will be no light in gray areas. Especially when times fall during peak hours. We and OSR will communicate changes as quickly as possible. But for planning purposes, it's best not to count on it. There should be light in the white zone. If not, you have to fill out an electronic application on the networks' website. Could be an accident, could be an error, could be an equipment failure, could be anything. Colleagues take away and analyze", — said Kovalenko.
Tuesday, June 25, schedules of power outages in Ukraine will be in effect throughout the day. In some hours, the volume of restrictions will be increased.
