Netherlands announces delivery of Patriot air defense system to Ukraine
During the meeting in Brussels, they discussed assistance to Ukraine with air defense
Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced the transfer of a Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. She noted that the Netherlands, together with another country, has assembled parts that can form a complete Patriot system. Ollongren emphasized that air defense is critical to Ukraine.
Ollongren also said Romania announced the delivery of the Patriot system this week. She added that the U.S. is working to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces more. At a meeting on Patriot in Brussels last week, another inventory was made to help Ukraine with its air defense.
The Dutch defense minister said "all the pieces of the puzzle" were on the table, but did not disclose which country was helping to supply the system, believing it should be announced by the country concerned.
Polish President Andrzej Duda said June 21 that he considered the United States' decision to provide Ukraine with missiles for Patriot air defense systems out of line with other customer nations problematic
