Head coach of the Ukraine national team Serhiy Rebrov admitted what was happening in the locker room during the break of the match against Slovakia
Serhiy Rebrov said he did not shout at the Ukraine players during the break.
"We had to react. In the first half, unfortunately, we did not press well high to get the ball back. We changed some things in that component. I think, we added desire. I told the players: "This is our chance. We don't have to worry about the score, we have to leave the maximum on the field". And they really did it", the Ukraine head coach said in a statement.
How Ukraine plays at Euro 2024
The Ukraine national team has had a poor start to the European Football Championship. Serhiy Rebrov's team fell short against Romania on June 17 in Munich and lost 0-3.
On June 21, in the 2nd round of Euro 2024, the Ukrainian players rehabilitated themselves with a 1-2 victory over Slovakia.
After two Euro 2024 matches, the Ukrainian players have 3 points. Slovakia also have 3 points. Romania (3 points) and Belgium (0) will meet in the parallel match of Group E, which starts at 22:00 on Saturday.
In the final match of the group round of Euro-2024, Ukraine will play against Belgium. The match will take place on June 26. Kick-off is at 19:00.
The teams that finish first and second in their groups, as well as four of the top six teams in third position, will qualify for the 1/8 finals.
