Ukrainians may get 6-7 hours of light per day this winter, as there is a possibility of electricity shortages of up to 35%

He noted that there will be a shortage of electricity, but it is not yet known what its volumes will be. Such figures will be clear in August, he said.

"It's very difficult to forecast winter, because it's summer now and it's not clear what kind of generation we will enter the heating season with. We know for sure that the winter peak is quite large. If generation plus import capacity remain at the same level as they are, the deficit will reach 35%. If we then take away critical infrastructure, if we then do everything, we can really sit for 6-7 hours with light. But this should be discussed in August, because it will be clear what our import capabilities are and how much we will have time to restore generation", said Kovalenko.

At the same time, the CEO of Yasno noted the need for businesses and household consumers to be prepared for the shortage of electricity.

"How can we prepare for it? It's alternative living options. From batteries, batteries in different formats, to generation that can be. If there is a possibility — solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators and so on", he added.
  • On June 13, it was reported that if the Russian army continues to attack the Ukrainian energy system, Ukrainians may spend up to 20 hours a day without light and heat supply.
