Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan confirmed participation in the Peace Summit

The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Hakan Fidan, has confirmed that he will represent his state at the Peace Summit on Ukraine in Switzerland on June 15-16

"We will represent our country at the Ukrainian peace summit in Switzerland", Fidan said.

The minister also added that at the event, Turkey will share its views on achieving a just peace in Ukraine.

Peace Summit: details and features of the event

On February 26, Switzerland announced its intention to hold the Peace Summit in Ukraine before the summer.

On March 18, Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland Wang Shi-ting said that the China is considering the possibility of participating in the Peace Summit, which Switzerland is organizing at the request of Ukraine.

On May 2, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said that Russia should participate in the Peace Summit because "a peace process without Russia is unthinkable". However, this time Moscow was not invited to the event.

On May 31, Chinese Foreign Ministry speaker Mao Ning announced that her country would not attend the Peace Summit in Switzerland on June 15 and 16 because it was not endorsed by Russia.

On June 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused China of helping Russia disrupt the summit diplomatically, while Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba  concluded that China and Russia are engaged in large-scale opposition to the Peace Summit.

It was later reported that the United States encouraged China to attend the Global Peace Summit.

On June 10, the Swiss government reported that 90 nations and organizations have registered to attend the Global Peace Summit, which will be held June 15-16.

Presidential spokesman Sergei Nikiforov stated that China is still unlikely to attend the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, which will be held June 15-16.

American pop singer Madonna has expressed support for the Peace Summit to End the War in Ukraine and Return Ukrainian Children to be held in Switzerland.
