"The U.S. is trying to draw Europe into a full-scale war in Russia": fakes and manipulations of the world media for June 11
The Center for Countering Disinformation published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations that the world media launched on June 11
Disinformation: Former U.S. Army combat and staff officer David Pyne said, "The reason why he (Zelenskyy, - ed.) is attacking Russian nuclear forces and nuclear command and control centers is that he actually wants Putin to escalate the war and use some sort of demonstration nuclear weapons on Ukrainian territory, hoping that this will cause the U.S. and NATO to attack Russian forces and start a Europe-wide conflict".
Refutation: With these statements, David Pyne is trying to portray the Ukrainian government as a provocateur and escalator of war with Russia. In reality, the actions of the Ukrainian government and army are aimed at defending our country from Russian aggression.
Manipulation: Netherlands journalist Sonja van den Ende wrote on her X page, "The US is trying to drag Europe into a full-scale war in Russia at any cost. The delivery of Danish, Belgian and Swedish airplanes (F16s) contributes greatly to this. The Western political elite is deranged, dangerously radicalized, why is this happening?"
Refutation: This is part of a Russian propaganda campaign to discredit and stop Western military aid to Ukraine. In fact, Western arms supplies play a key role in Ukraine's opposition to Russian aggression, and that is why ruspropaganda is trying to disrupt this aid.
- On June 9, it was reported that Russian propagandists were spreading a fake saying that allegedly sooner or later the AFU's defenses will "break down" and the Ukrainian government risks losing control of a number of major cities, including Kyiv.
