Olga Beskhmelnitsina, producer, said that the best-case scenario is that the Council for State Support of Cinematography should be re-elected, and the main institution in this sphere should be rebooted
About this writes espreso.tv
She told about that on the air of Espreso.
"The situation has been going on for more than a year. A record budget was allocated for pitching (presentation of a movie idea in order to obtain financing for its production - ed.), which is now being held. The Council for State Support of Cinematography, which distributes this money at the final stage, should have been changed back in March last year, but this did not happen. The National Union of Cinematographers sued to have the legal procedure restored. Two courts were won. The latest decision of the Court of Appeal suspended the Council's activity. And Goskino bypassed the legal procedures in writing filed an appeal for this pitching, which for some reason the Supreme Court accepted", — said the producer.

According to her, it all looks as suspicious as possible. It is not clear why they do not want to re-elect this Rada and where they are in such a hurry. This situation is bad for the whole community, so it is necessary to convey what is happening as much as possible. In the best scenario, the institution should be rebooted and the Council re-elected.

"Meanwhile, Goskino is holding the second round of pitching to distribute this record-breaking money, 600 million hryvnias, as soon as possible. It seems that no one will transfer this money to the army. For the second time we appeal to all the governing bodies of the country, the last letter was signed by about 700 filmmakers, and we demand the observance of legal procedures. And if there is no trust in the main institution in this sphere, it would be right and fair today to transfer this money to the army. No one hears us, we are not answered, but we keep talking", — stressed Olga Beskhmelnitsina.
  • Previously, representatives of the Ukrainian film community in an open letter to representatives of the Ukrainian authorities expressed distrust of the State Cinema and called for the transfer of UAH 589.6 million to the Defense Forces
