"First of all, thanked for the support in strengthening Ukrainian air defense. He noted the initiative of the Netherlands to jointly deliver Patriot SAMs to Ukraine with its partners. We also expect the soonest transfer of F-16 aircraft, which will help protect people and infrastructure", he wrote.
The Ukrainian prime minister and the head of the Dutch Defense Ministry discussed joint defense production, technology exchange, as well as the Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16.
Shmyhal also added that the issue of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration was raised during the meeting.
"We rely on the active advocacy of the Netherlands in further work with key partners of the Alliance for comprehensive support of our state", — summarized the Prime Minister.
Kajsa Ollongren met with Defense Minister Umerov
He wrote this on Facebook. He noted that during the visit his Dutch counterpart talked about the F-16, military cooperation, and attracting support for the development of Ukrainian defense enterprises.
"Kajsa is a frequent and welcome guest in Kiev, which underscores the important role of the Netherlands in helping Ukraine fight Russian aggression. I sincerely thank her and the people of the Netherlands for their support. We discussed in detail possible ways for the Netherlands to participate in the procurement of weapons for our military needs and considered options for cooperation in defense production in Ukraine", the minister wrote.
He noted that special attention during the conversation was paid to the F-16 initiative.
"The F-16 coalition is one of the most effective, and we are grateful to the Netherlands for co-leadership in it. We are doing everything we can to have the planes, pilots and bases ready for combat as soon as possible. informed the Dutch delegation about the current situation on the front and Ukraine's military requirements. The Netherlands is one of the leaders of the Czech initiative to purchase 155 mm caliber shells for the Ukrainian army. We are grateful for the support!" — Umerov added.
