"We have defeated apathy. We are giving hope to each other. We are building a country where there is no right or left — only Hungarians", Magyar, head of the opposition Tisza party, said at a rally before a crowd that filled the capital's Heroes' Square.

Magyar, who was formerly a member of Orban's Fidesz party, left government ranks and began criticizing parliament for likely corruption.

The Hungarian government has repeatedly denied allegations of corruption.
