The Rada passed a bill on the possibility of the SSSCIP to buy drones and EW for defense needs
On Thursday, June 6, the Verkhovna Rada supported a bill to allow the SSSCIP to temporarily, during martial law, buy drones, EW and ammunition for defense needs
The draft law "On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning the Performance by the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine of Tasks Related to the Provision of Unmanned Systems, Means of Electronic Warfare and Passive Countermeasures against Technical Intelligence" was registered in the Rada under #11144.
The bill was voted for by 275 deputies.
According to Gerashchenko, the passed bill now officially allows the SSSCIP during martial law to purchase UAVs, EW means and ammunition for its own needs and other law enforcement agencies and organize the provision of these means according to submitted orders.
"This is a temporary measure. It will be until the Defense Ministry builds the infrastructure to take over (the procurement agency) this function", Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote.
