Iceland to provide additional €667,000 to Ukraine's energy support fund

Iceland will make an additional contribution to the Ukrainian energy support fund — €667 thousand. Thus, its invested funds will amount to more than 2.7 million dollars

It is noted that the contribution of €667 thousand is the second from Iceland. Last time, the state transferred more than €2 million to Ukraine's energy support fund.

Thereby, Iceland's total assistance will amount to €2.72 million.

"We thank our partners from Iceland for helping the Ukrainian energy sector in these difficult times. The Energy Support Fund is an effective tool that allows us to purchase the necessary equipment to repair and restore facilities damaged by Russian attacks", — said Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko.
  • On May 28, the Swedish government presented  an energy aid package for Ukraine worth 650 million Swedish kronor (56.66 million euros)
  • May 31 Australia decided to join the list of countries sponsoring Ukraine's Energy Support Fund. The government announced a grant contribution of about 12.26 million euros.
  • On June 4, the Ukrainian Cabinet approved  a strategy to strengthen the energy sector after Russian strikes.
