Canada imposes sanctions against Yanukovych-era politicians, list includes Azarov, Pshonka and Tabachnyk
Canada has imposed economic sanctions against a number of Ukrainian ex-politicians and officials from the time of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych. The list includes former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, former Prosecutor-General Viktor Pshonka and former Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk, among others
It is noted that according to the Canadian authorities, the situation in Ukraine is a "serious breach" of international peace and security. It has caused an international crisis.
The state has therefore imposed economic sanctions against former Ukrainian politicians and officials who worked during Yanukovych's presidency: Mykola Azarov, Oleksiy Azarov, Raisa Bohatyriova, Andriy Klyuyev, Serhiy Kurchenko, Viktor Pshonka, Artem Pshonka, Dmytro Tabachnyk, Oleksandr Yakimenko and Vitaliy Zakharchenko.
- On February 4, 2023, the head of the faction of the Servant of the People party, Davyd Arakhamia, published a list of 5 traitors who were stripped of their Ukrainian citizenship. Among them are Andriy Klyuyev, Dmytro Tabachnyk, Oleksandr Klymenko, Vitaliy Zakharchenko and Oleksandr Yakymenko.
