It is noted that more than 2300 hectares of forests are burning in the Kharkiv region.
"Rescuers are eliminating the ignition of 18 forest fires in the Kharkiv region. We have already managed to localize 9 forest fires on an area of 141 hectares", the agency said.
"Emergency workers are working in extremely difficult conditions, being under constant enemy attack. The difficulty of extinguishing the fire is also due to the fact that areas of forests in the frontline areas are mined and contaminated with unexploded ordnance", they added.
Sappers and medics of the State Emergency Service are also involved in the work.
