Ukraine is just a convenient host, a laboratory for NATO weapons and a source of "human resources": fakes and manipulations of the world media for May 29th
The Center for Countering Disinformation published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations that appeared in the world on May 29
Disinformation: Journalist Chay Bose wrote on his X (Twitter) page, "As I've said repeatedly, Ukraine is just a convenient host, a laboratory for NATO weapons and a source of 'manpower' in a failed proxy war. It will be rejected by western elites when it is used. And Russia will still be its neighbor".
Rebuttal: The journalist is once again spreading a discredited message aimed at denying Ukraine's subjectivity. Now, Ukraine is one of the driving forces in confronting and defending the democratic world from dictatorship. Therefore, the help of NATO countries is a necessary resource, and any Russian narrative about a proxy war is beneficial only to the Kremlin.
Manipulation: Writer Caitlin Johnston wrote on her Twitter account X (Twitter): "As Ukraine loses more territory and has no soldiers in this losing US proxy war, more and more senior empire managers are calling for a world-threatening escalation in which NATO-provided weapons are used to strike deep into Russian territory".
Refutation: The writer's rhetoric is consistent with pro-Russian rhetoric. For example, after NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's words about authorizing strikes on Russian territory, the Kremlin intensified its campaign to promote the narrative of war escalation and direct participation of NATO countries in the war.
- On June 25, it became known that Russian propaganda invented a fake that the U.S. Congress had recognized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a dictator.
