This was reported by espreso.tv

It is noted that the dog died in his sleep on the morning of May 24.

"On the morning of May 24, Kabosu walked across the rainbow bridge. Thank you all so much for your support over the years. He  left  without suffering, as if falling asleep, feeling the warmth of my hands", Sato wrote.

The dog was 18 years old. Recently, he had been seriously ill — he suffered from cancer, had problems with his vestibular system, and almost never ate.

The dog went viral back in 2013 when a photo of Kabosu viralized the internet. He became the basis of the Doge meme. In addition, the dog was ranked 12th on MTV's list of 50 Pop Culture Things We Should Thank Her For.

The Dogecoin cryptocurrency was named after the then-famous Doge meme. It was once actively promoted by billionaire Elon Musk.
