The National Bank is preparing restrictions on card transfers between individuals. Details
The National Bank of Ukraine wants to introduce limits and restrictions on card transfers between individuals: a draft decision is being prepared
The limit on incoming transfers between individuals is planned to be set at UAH 100 thousand. In addition, only 30 transactions will be available for one account. The restrictions are expected to be implemented within a month and will be based on the April decision of the National Security and Defense Council on combating illegal gambling.
"According to our calculations, 95% of bank customers will not even notice these restrictions. Instead, it will become more difficult and expensive to make shadow payments to criminals who use individuals' cards for, for example, tax evasion and criminal activities", said Dmytro Oliynyk, Deputy Governor of the NBU.
The NBU does not plan to restrict outgoing transactions in order not to complicate volunteer activities. In addition, if there are grounds and confirmations, the limits may be increased as an exception.
- Earlier, the president of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, Andriy Dubas, said that the NBU restrictions on card transfers would not affect law-abiding citizens.
