She said that she and her three friends went to the police to file a complaint against a taxi driver who poured pepper spray in their faces. Then a soldier with crutches entered the police station and introduced himself as an employee of the TRC.
When the young men filed a statement, they were not allowed to leave the premises for two hours.
According to the victim, the law enforcers later released two of the 19-year-olds, while the third was left at the station to be taken to the local TRC to "sort things out". The 19-year-old girl decided to go with her friend, introducing herself as his girlfriend. The officers agreed to this.
However, after the boy was put in the car, the girl was not allowed to get in. She started filming everything that was happening on her phone. At that moment, a man in a military uniform ran up to her and beat her with a crutch.
As a result, according to the victim, she received two cuts on her head, numerous bruises all over her body and a bruised right shoulder muscle. She was treated for the injuries at a local hospital.
Later, the Odesa Regional TRC said that they had launched an internal investigation into the incident. They note that if the guilt of their employees is proved, they will be brought to justice in accordance with the current legislation.
The TRC also stressed that they condemn any manifestations of violence and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to establish the real circumstances.
