On December 30, the government adopted a resolution expanding the list of state bodies that can purchase goods, works and services for the construction of military engineering and fortifications.
In late February, the president announced an audit to help identify weaknesses in the construction of fortifications. On April 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the construction of fortifications in Kharkiv region.
The Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on April 12 decided to allocate an additional UAH 3.88 billion for the construction of fortifications in frontline and border regions. On April 23, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated another UAH 8 billion for the construction of fortifications by redistributing state budget expenditures. On May 7, the Ukrainian government approved the procedure for accepting, maintaining maintenance and keeping records of fortifications.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov held a weekly phone conversation with Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin on May 7 to discuss the completion of several lines of fortifications and Ukraine's need for additional missiles for air defense.
