Microsoft has created an AI model for US intelligence agencies
Microsoft has created a GPT-4-based generative artificial intelligence model for the US intelligence services that can work without the Internet and be used to analyze classified information

It is noted that this is the first time a large language model can work completely without an Internet connection. The report says that most AI models, including ChatGPT and OpenAI, use cloud data to learn and establish patterns, but "Microsoft wanted to provide a truly secure system for the US intelligence community".
"This is the first time we have an isolated version - isolated means it's not connected to the Internet - and it's on a special network that only the U.S. government has access to", said William Chappell, Microsoft's CTO for Strategic Missions and Technology.
The new GPT-4 model is said to be static: it can read files, but not learn from that information or data from the Internet. In this case, the US government will be able to prevent the leakage of classified information.
According to Chappell, about 10 thousand people will theoretically be able to access the secret generative AI service.
- On April 21, Microsoft presented a new model of artificial intelligence that is capable of automatically creating a realistic video of a person speaking based on a still image of a face and an audio recording of a conversation.
