There may be border battles in Kharkiv and Sumy regions: General Kryvonos on russians' activation in the northeast
Serhiy Kryvonos
Former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, political and military figure, Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Kryvonos noted that the enemy does not have enough forces and means to take offensive actions in the direction of Sumy and Kharkiv
He spoke about this on Espresso.
"Separately, as for Sumy and Kharkiv, the russians have a certain amount of forces and means at the level of 50 thousand, which they have smeared over the territories of Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk regions, but this is clearly not enough for them to launch offensive actions. However, this may give the enemy the ability to conduct border battles to draw our forces and resources away from the russian-Ukrainian front. They are doing this quite effectively", noted the Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, the situation in other parts of the front is quite complicated.
"The russians have a powerful advantage in the number of artillery, air dominance, and the number of people who are conducting offensive actions in certain parts of the front. One of the main tasks that the Ukrainian authorities must solve is not only to provide the necessary amount of weapons for our guys on the front line, but also to provide people who could replace the fighters in the trenches", emphasized Serhiy Kryvonos.
- On May 7, the evening report of the General Staff reported that 64 combat clashes took place at the front during the day. The defense forces repelled 54 enemy attacks in seven directions, 18 of them in Avdiivka sector.
