The authorities say that the marathon will last until the end of martial law, — Head of the Supervisory Board of Public Broadcasting

Inessa Bilyuk, Lviv Media Forum
Svitlana Ostapa, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Public Broadcasting Company, said that the authorities had repeatedly announced that the telethon would continue until the end of martial law

She told about that on Espresso.

"We don't receive anything from the additional funds allocated for the telethon. We work only with the budget allocated to us by a separate communication company. Therefore, in this situation, Maryana Bezuhla also distorted the information. She claims that we are receiving additional funds, but this is not true", Ostapa said.
According to the media expert, the pressure on the Public Broadcasting Company may be due to the fact that the government cannot interfere with the channel's editorial policy.

"I understand that the telethon will definitely continue until the end of this year. I have also repeatedly heard from government officials that the telethon will continue until the end of martial law. It is not yet known how the situation with Public Broadcasting Company will be resolved, but I hope that common sense will prevail. Tomorrow we will have an online meeting with the heads of the telethon channels. I would just like to add that some of the opposition says that we receive letters with information about the speakers. We don't have such letters, and perhaps this is what worries the authorities, that they cannot interfere with the editorial policy of our channel", she added.
  • On April 29, the Journalism Ethics Commission responded to information about the possible exclusion of Public Broadcasting from the prime time of the telethon and the accusations of MP Maryana Bezuhla about the company's activities. The broadcaster also commented on the MP's posts.
  • On April 30, the participants of the Media Movement called on the authorities to stop putting pressure on Public Broadcasting, to retain the evening prime time of the telethon, to respond to the false statements of MP Bezuhla and to allocate a sufficient budget for the broadcaster for 2025
