Belarus has adopted a military doctrine with the possibility of participating in a war on the side of "friendly states"
Belarus has unveiled a military doctrine that enshrines the possibility of providing military assistance to allied countries, including the participation of its soldiers in the war

"The Republic of Belarus considers it possible to provide military assistance to friendly states on the basis of bilateral and multilateral international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, including sending a military contingent to participate in relevant activities to maintain international peace and security", the text of the military doctrine says.
The document also mentions Ukraine. It claims that the war in Ukraine is creating a center of tension near the borders of Belarus.
"The military conflict in Ukraine, provoked by the collective West, has created a center of tension near the Republic of Belarus in the near future. Its further support and obstruction of a peaceful settlement create preconditions for its escalation and gradual expansion of the number of participants at the expense of Poland and other NATO countries", the document says.
The doctrine states that Belarus considers any actions with the use of military force against the members of the Union State as an encroachment in general and "will take appropriate measures in response using all forces and means at its disposal".
In addition, the document says that Belarus will be ready to provide any assistance, including military, to a CSTO member state in case of aggression against it.
- Earlier this month, Lukashenko justified why Belarus is not going to war against Ukraine. "Because their border with Belarus is barricaded so that you can't get there. It is completely mined and concreted. And there are 120 thousand Ukrainian soldiers on this border. Well, they want to throw them to the front and put the French here", the Belarusian dictator said.
