The investigation established that the attacker was a former communist deputy of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, who was sentenced to 6 years in prison in 2001 for planning a coup d'état in Ukraine.

The information received was transferred to the FSB via messenger with a detailed description of the potential target and the surrounding area.
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the former MP guilty under Part. 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
