For the first time in a year and a half, talks between the top military representatives of the United States and China took place

Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff and General of the People's Liberation Army of China

For the first time in a year and a half, Generals Charles Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Liu Zhenli, General of the People's Liberation Army of China, held a video conference, the first talks between the two superpowers at this level in a year and a half.

This is stated in the Pentagon's report.

During these talks, a wide range of global and regional security issues were discussed, and the importance of maintaining open lines of communication between the US and Chinese militaries was emphasized.

General Brown particularly emphasized the importance of China's participation in a constructive dialogue aimed at reducing the likelihood of misunderstandings between the two great powers.

The talks were a response to U.S. concerns about the lack of military dialogue with China and incidents that have arisen within the framework of tense military relations, such as aircraft interceptions and provocations in Southeast Asia.
