In the U.S. House of Representatives, 91 congressmen from both parties signed a letter calling on Speaker Mike Johnson to bring the Senate-passed bill to the floor for an immediate vote on aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan

This was reported by espreso.tv

The text of the letter was released by one of the signatories, Congressman Josh Gottheimer.

"This weekend, the Iranian regime launched hundreds of drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles directly at our key democratic ally in the Middle East, Israel. Time is of the essence, and we must ensure that we get the necessary assistance to Israel and our other democratic allies who are facing threats from our adversaries around the world", the document signed by 91 congressmen reads.

At the same time, the letter includes a call for Johnson to "bring the supplemental funding package passed by the Senate to the floor for an immediate vote" when he returns to work today, Monday. Therefore, if it is submitted to the lower house on Monday, US President Joe Biden may receive it for signature on the same evening.

  • On April 12, it was reported that Mike Johnson was negotiating with the White House on Republican amendments to the package of aid to Ukraine and Israel.
