A passenger train will start running between Vilnius and Riga

Starting December 27, a passenger train will start running regularly between Vilnius and Riga.

Transportation will be provided by the Lithuanian carrier LTG Link, and the first train from Vilnius to Riga will depart on December 27.
The journey between the capitals is expected to take about 4 hours and 15 minutes. The schedule will be daily, with departure at 6:30 a.m. from Vilnius and return at 15:00 a.m. from Riga.
Tickets will cost 24 euros for the second class and 34 euros for the first class. Children under 6 years old will travel free of charge with the possibility of taking a separate seat, and children from 6 to 16 years old will receive a 30% discount. Lithuanian Minister of Transport Marius Skuodis noted that after the completion of the Rail Baltica project, the duration of the railroad journey will be halved, reducing to about two hours.
