The decision was made by the Serbian government

The Serbian government has decided to allow the entry of cars with partially recognized Kosovo license plates starting from January 1, 2024. 

This was announced by the head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, as Kosovo is officially called by the Serbian authorities, Petar Petkovic.

It is noted that this step was taken for practical reasons to facilitate the freedom of movement of people. 

The government resolution clearly states that this decision is not considered a recognition of Kosovo's independence. Serbian authorities emphasize that they do not cross red lines in preserving the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The head of the Kosovo and Metohija Office, Petar Petkovic, noted that this decision does not affect the obligation not to cross the red lines in all negotiations on the status of Kosovo.
