COP28 climate summit in Dubai agrees on call to phase out fossil fuels
At the same time, the agreement contains many loopholes that will allow the continued use of coal, oil and gas

At the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, a call to abandon the use of fossil fuels was approved.

This is reported by CNN.

It is noted that the agreement, called Global Stocktake, includes numerous caveats that may allow the continued use of coal, oil and gas.

However, according to the publication, some countries and climate experts see this COP28 agreement as a signal of the end of the era of fossil fuels. Unfortunately, the Global Stocktake does not include calls for a "gradual phase-out" of fossil fuels, experts say.

"This is a statement of ambitious goals supported by more than 100 countries and numerous environmental groups", the report says.
