Spectacular growth of 3.5 billion lei in a single week

Fresh news from the financial market! The Bucharest Stock Exchange had an impressive week, gaining 3.5 billion lei in capitalization, representing a 1.22% increase. Data provided by the BVB shows that the market capitalization reached 290.634 billion lei from 4 to 8 December 2023, compared to 287.127 billion lei in the previous week.

The value of share transactions also saw a significant increase of 319.58%, reaching 1.312 billion lei, compared to 312.891 million lei in the previous week. Wednesday, December 6, was the day with the highest turnover, recording transactions of 1.065 billion lei, while Friday, December 8, recorded the lowest value of transactions, with 43.896 million lei, Agerpres reports.

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange - BET - closed the week at 15,033.96 points, reflecting the overall market performance.

In terms of the most traded securities, the shares of the Proprietatea Fund led the ranking with transactions of 1.027 billion lei, down 3.43%. Other notable stocks include Hidroelectrica, with transactions of 53.198 million lei (-1.79%), and One United Properties, with 46.746 million lei and an increase of 2.13%.

On the front of significant share price increases, Sphera Franchise Group shares recorded an impressive 15.61% advance, along with Ropharma (11.70%) and Shipyard Orșova (+11.32%).

However, there were also notable declines, with shares in Energopetrol falling 14.75%, followed by Mecanica Ceahlău (-10.40%) and Bermas (-7.41%).
