Firefighters handled more than 5,600 emergencies during the National Day and St. Andrew's Day holidays
SMURD teams provided medical assistance to 4,753 people
During the National Day and St Andrew's Day mini-holiday, more than 5,600 emergencies were handled by firefighters across the country. More than 4,900 firefighters were mobilized daily to provide specific emergency prevention and management missions nationwide.
According to the press office of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), during this period, firefighters intervened in 234 fires, SMURD teams acted in 4,719 cases to provide first aid and in 28 cases to rescue victims of road accidents. In addition, 646 community protection missions were carried out, reports Agerpres.
In the last four days, SMURD teams provided medical assistance to 4,753 people. Regarding the safety of entertainment facilities, prevention inspectors carried out 172 inspections in public spaces and visited commercial establishments, issuing 623 fines for non-compliance with fire safety regulations.
