Denmark will allocate €7 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine: What will the funds be used for?
The money will be provided in several tranches
Denmark willtransfer a grant contribution totaling €7 million to the Energy Support Fundfor Ukraine. The money will be used to purchase equipment to restore the energyinfrastructure affected by Russian attacks. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy ofUkraine .
It is notedthat the partner country will contribute €4 million in the near future. Another€3 million will come later.
DanishMinister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Ogоr emphasized that Denmark will continue to helpUkraine in confronting the Russian aggressor, particularly on the energy front.This is a clear position of both the government and Danish business.
According tothe Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko, during the war, theUkrainian-Danish energy partnership played an important role in the urgentrepair and development of decentralized generation.
"Weappreciate the assistance of the Danish Government and the entire nation, andwe are confident in deepening our cooperation to further rebuild and modernizethe Ukrainian energy sector," Galushchenko added.
The Fund wasestablished in the spring of 2022. It enables governments, internationalfinancial organizations, and private donors to provide substantial support tothe Ukrainian energy sector.
It should benoted that during the previous heating season, the occupiers fired more than 1,200missiles and drones at key energy facilities in Ukraine. 250 of them hit theirtargets, causing damage to 43% of the main power grids. All thermal andhydroelectric power plants suffered varying degrees of damage.
