Passenger numbers for business and VIP services have seen a steady increase, generating a significant increase in revenue compared to the record year of 2019.

Henri Coandă Airport in Bucharest has reported a significant increase in revenue from VIP Services, recording an increase of almost 40% in 2022 compared to the record year of 2019 when passenger numbers peaked. In the first six months of 2023, revenue continued to grow, recording a 63% increase compared to the same period in 2019.

Protocol Services, which include business and VIP facilities, are an important source of revenue for Compania Națională Aeroporturi București (CNAB). In 2022, the number of passengers using these services increased steadily, leading to significant revenue growth, reports Adevarul.ro.

In these services, passengers have access to premium facilities, such as protocol lounges, where they can enjoy exclusive treatment. Revenue from this activity increased by almost 40% in 2022 compared to 2019, a year in which the airport saw record passenger numbers.

In the first six months of 2023, this positive trend continued, with revenue up 63% compared to the same period in 2019. Continued revenue growth indicates the popularity and steady demand for Henri Coandă Airport's VIP services.

According to CNAB, efforts to improve the quality of service for this category are a priority, reflecting the commitment to provide a superior experience for passengers who opt for VIP services. The allocation of additional funds and the removal of some restrictions in the tendering process are measures taken to facilitate access to a larger number of bidders and to improve the services offered.

The service offered to business and VIP customers at the protocol lounges is constantly improving, including a wide range of products such as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, coffee and tea, juices, pastries, cheeses, sandwiches, pizzas and salads. These facilities aim to bring Henri Coandă Airport up to the service standards offered by major international airports.
