On September 21, the outstanding American writer Stephen King turned 76 years old. Over the course of his career, he has created 55 novels that gained immense popularity and has over 100 adaptations of his works. His substantial earnings and millions of fans worldwide attest to his undeniable success and unique ability to perceive what others may overlook.

Starting from 2022, Stephen King has shown himself as a devoted supporter of Ukraine. From the early days of the full-scale war, he has been closely following events in our country. He was among the first global authors to refuse the publication of his books in Russia, urging people on Twitter not to trust Russian media. Additionally, he brilliantly and sarcastically jokes about the failures of the Russian army on the front lines while expressing support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The magazine VOGUE collected some of Stephen King's best quotes expressing support for Ukraine:

"This is Putin's war. Women and children are dying at his hands. It's crucial for Russians to understand what's happening. It's vital to break down the wall of disinformation."

This was one of the author's first tweets dedicated to the war in Ukraine. At that time, Stephen King, while criticising Putin's propaganda, called on hundreds of thousands of his followers not to fall for Russian deception. On March 5, 2022, Stephen King astonished the world with a short but powerful tweet in response to news of the Russian occupation of Kherson, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions. One photo, showing an elderly woman "ungreeting" the occupiers with a characteristic gesture and just a few words... but what a poignant expression! His tweet received tens of thousands of likes.

"Keep going, Vladimir. Ukraine will empty your treasury and bleed you dry."

Stephen King doesn't shy away from irony and sarcasm. His mocking post forecasts an exceptionally bleak outlook for Russia.

"Putin needs to disappear before he kills us all. One way or another."

The post from April 27 makes more sense when looking at the news from that time. On April 24, a brutal shelling occurred in Odessa when Russian rockets hit a residential building. These tragic events prompted Stephen King to express his thoughts, as eight people, including a pregnant woman, lost their lives in the shelling.

"Putin thought he was dealing with a poodle. But what he got turned out to be a wolverine. Glory to Ukraine!"

Dated May 14, 2022, this tweet received a great positive response from Stephen King's followers: over 100,000 likes and nearly two thousand comments. In a way, King's post reflects the opinion of many Western experts, politicians, and public figures: Ukraine turned out to be much more powerful than the world expected.

It's worth noting that Stephen King follows the events on the front lines with an interest that rivals that of many Ukrainians. In particular, on September 10, 2022, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, liberating numerous cities, the writer quickly reacted with an ironic tweet.
