Ukrainians with temporary protection abroad receive payments that sometimes exceed the average salary in Ukraine (16 thousand UAH, or €414).

This was reported by Business.ua.

  • Ireland -€824 for an adult per month;
  • Belgium -€1140 per adult;
  • Germany -€502 per adult;
  • France -€426 per month;
  • United Kingdom - from €300 per person;
  • Norway -€650 per adult;
  • Switzerland- €350-500 "in hand";

The amount of money that Ukrainians receive in cash may depend on their housing, family composition, and the status of their studies or job search. The amount of payments also varies: in some countries, they are being increased, as they are for their citizens - in particular, in Germany. In others, they are planned to be reduced due to the excessive burden on the budget, as in Ireland.

The amount of benefits for children is usually lower than for adults. Housing provided orpaid for by the state and family composition are also taken into account.

In Ireland, payments are provided in addition to free housing. In particular, in addition to €824, an additional €160-192 is paid for childcare, and the allowance for children under 16 is €140.

In Belgium, one adult can receive €1140 per month, but a family with two children cannot receive more than €1537.9.

In the UK, an adult over the age of 25 receives €384, and a child about €332.

In France, the monthly payment is approximately €204. If refugees do not have social housing, they are paid compensation of €7.4 per day per person. In total, the monthly allowance will be €426, and a mother with a child will receive €528.

In Norway, Ukrainians with temporary protection receive payments of approximately €650 per adult and €250-350 for each child. At the same time, during integration courses, you can receive about €1400 per month. These funds are used to pay for housing and utilities on their own.

Germany pays Ukrainians a basic civilian income, which is also received by Germans who have too little income or are unemployed. For an adult, the payment is €502, for children – from €310 to €420, depending on their age. The Ukrainian diaspora in Germany also receives a separate payment for rent.

According to a study by the Centre for Economic Strategy,  there are currently between 5.6 million and 6.7 million Ukrainians abroad. These are people with different education, professional skills and wealth, but two-thirds of them would like to return to Ukraine. Between 1.3 million and 3.3 million may stay abroad permanently, depending on the optimistic or pessimistic scenario.
