According to Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces in Southern Ukraine, occupiers are realising their powerlessness as local residents in temporarily occupied territories refuse to "see '' Russian authority. She notes that this is evident in the low turnout for the "pseudo-elections'' conducted by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Occupiers, in an attempt to maintain the semblance of their authority, employ coercion, forcing people to vote with a Ukrainian passport.

As reported by UNIAN during the telethon broadcast, Humenyuk emphasised that earlier, the occupiers had hoped to forcibly passportize all local residents, but they faced failure, so they had to acknowledge that "elections" would be conducted using Ukrainian passports.

She states that the Russian "elections" aim to create an artificial political image, suggesting that the region supports Russian rule and aspires to be part of the Russian Federation. Humeniuk mentions that the list of so-called candidates for the "government" in the occupied territories is known, and law enforcement agencies will work with this information when the Defense Forces regain control in the left-bank region of Kherson.

This is not the first time when aggressors have conducted "pseudo-elections" in the occupied regions of Ukraine to create the illusion of a Russian territory. However, local residents strongly express their position, actively avoiding "polling stations."
