Spain temporarily blocks Telegram due to copyright claims
On March 23, the National Court of Spain ruled to suspend the Telegram messenger in the country after media companies complained about copyright infringement.

The use of Telegram in Spain will be temporarily suspended from Monday, March 25, following a request from media companies, including Atresmedia, EGEDA, Mediaset and Telefonica.

A court source said that it would be the responsibility of mobile phone providers to block Telegram services.
It is noted that Telegram is the fourth most used messaging service in Spain. It was used by about 8.5 million Spaniards, approximately 18% of the population, according to the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC).
