Cyberpolice and Binance offer students a chance to gain unique skills of the digital world at CYBER SECURITY CAMP
Binance in partnership with the Cyberpolice of Ukraine, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and Brama NGO will hold a national competition for higher education students – CYBER SECURITY CAMP
October 2, Kyiv - Binance, the world's leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, announces a new partnership with Ukrainian law enforcement. In cooperation with the cyber police and the Brama NGO, Binance is launching the CYBER SECURITY CAMP to enable Ukrainian students and cadets to acquire unique skills for the modern digital world.
Digital space is about security
Binance is making significant efforts to prevent online fraud by thoroughly informing Ukrainians about blockchain and cryptocurrencies. In particular, it is about counteracting such popular fraudulent “schemes” as phishing (going to phishing sites), “romantic dating” and many others. Also, since the program's launch in 2022, Binance has held more than 70 seminars for law enforcement agencies.
In addition, through active cooperation with law enforcement, Binance has prevented $2.4 billion in fraud losses since January 1, 2024, and globally has helped secure more than $73 million in funds stolen from third-party organizations.
"At Binance, we believe that developing digital skills and cybersecurity knowledge is an important element in ensuring safety in the digital world. Our partnership with the Cyberpolice of Ukraine and Brama NGO allows us to continue our efforts to educate young people about the risks of online fraud and cryptocurrencies. We believe that investing in the development of students will help create a new generation of professionals capable of working effectively in the field of blockchain technology and protection against online threats. It is these young talents that will determine the future security of the digital economy, and we are pleased to contribute to their development”, says Kirill Khomyakov, Regional Head of Binance Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa.
User education – network security
CYBERSECURITY CAMP will be a new chapter in Binance's collaboration with the Cyber Police and Brama. This is a four-phase competition, the winners of which will have the opportunity to take part in an offline course where they will learn about the basics of cybersecurity, crypto protection, and media hygiene. Citizens of Ukraine aged 18 and older are eligible to participate.
"We joined the CYBER SECURITY CAMP initiative because developing digital skills and knowledge in the field of cybersecurity is critical for today's youth. Protection against online threats requires not only technology but also a comprehensive approach to education. This is a strategic issue for the security of the future, so we want students to gain the necessary knowledge to counter cyber threats”, said Yuriy Vykhodets, head of the cyber police.
