Zelenskyy introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the creation of the AFU Unmanned Systems Force
On June 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to create an Unmanned Systems Force within the AFU structure
With his decree, Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to approve the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces as a separate branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko is in charge of monitoring the implementation of this decision. The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
About the Unmanned Systems Force
In February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a decree on the creation of the Unmanned Systems Force of the AFU in Ukraine.
"This is something that should give quite a concrete result in the near future. This year should be decisive in many aspects. And, obviously, on the battlefield", Zelenskyy said in a video message to Ukrainians.
The Cabinet of Ministers on May 7 supported the draft presidential decree, developed jointly by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, on the creation of a separate branch of troops in the AFU — the Unmanned Systems Force.
The initiators of the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces note that such a decision is dictated by the huge influence these systems have on the course of combat events.
"Drones — unmanned systems — have proven their effectiveness in battles on the ground, in the sky and at sea. Ukraine has made a real difference to the security situation in the Black Sea thanks to drones. The repulsion of assaults on land is largely the work of drones. Large-scale destruction of the occupants and their equipment is also the work of drones", the President of Ukraine said.
