Eurpean Comomission Vice-President for Values and Transparency Věra Jourová called Hungary's slogan for the EU Council presidency, echoing a phrase by former US leader Donald Trump,"not very original"
That's reported by espreso.tv

Budapest will hold the presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2024. At that time, the country had chosen the slogan: "Make Europe Great Again". It recalls the words of former White House chief Donald Trump, said during his first run for the U.S. presidency in 2016, "Make America Great Again".

"Well, it's not very original, is it?" — Jourová commented on Hungary's decision to do so, laughing.

The publication notes that the European Commission vice president said this before the EU's General Affairs Council, where Budapest's disregard for community values was a topic of discussion. Jourová emphasized that the commission has "observations" about press freedom and the rule of law in Hungary.

She said the European Council presidency should be a chance for Budapest "to show that it can serve and deliver as an honest broker, which is the role of the presidency",

"I just expect something to happen that shows professionalism, and I hope for a neutral and professional job", Jourová added.
