National Bank to strengthen financing of energy recovery projects
During the negotiations, the National Bank of Ukraine decided on preferential loans and grants for energy equipment
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal reported that the new solutions will promote project lending, particularly for the rapid restoration of energy infrastructure. The availability of loans for households and SMEs for the purchase of energy equipment is being increased.
The new provisions contain the provision of preferential loans for energy equipment, simplified connection of new installations, grants for the installation of solar generation and heat pumps. In addition, the government and communities are installing mini-CHPs across the country.
"These decisions are part of our overall strategy to help realize the decentralization of Ukraine's energy system. We are giving Ukrainian families, condominiums, businesses, and communities opportunities to strengthen their own energy resilience", Shmyhal added.
As a result of russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine's energy sector has suffered more than $56.2 billion in direct and indirect losses as of May 2024.
