The driver who hit two children was detained in Kiev region
In Troițcoe village, a driver hit two girls and fled, but was detained by law enforcers
Police in the Kyiv region reported that on June 10 at around 11 p.m. they received a report of a traffic accident with victims in the village of Troițcoe. Arriving at the scene, law enforcers interviewed witnesses and found out that an unidentified driver hit two girls and left in the direction of the village of Rakitnoye.
Police officers quickly identified the car of the perpetrator of the accident and her place of residence. Law enforcers subsequently detained the 55-year-old female driver. She was tested positive for intoxication — 1.91 ppm of alcohol.
The case will be further investigated by investigators. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be criminally punished until his guilt is legally proven and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
