Fuel market expert and director of the consulting company "A-95" Sergiy Kuyun believes that there will be no sharp rise in fuel prices after the excise tax increase
This was reported by espreso.tv

Diesel prices have decreased by more than UAH 2 in May.

"Gasoline is still standing, but there are also some downward movements, and liquefied gas has also fallen in price recently. As for excise taxes, it is not at all a fact that the price will rise. This is especially true for gasoline and diesel fuel. There are no such prerequisites to say that there will be some kind of a crazy increase", said Sergiy Kuyun, fuel market expert and director of A-95 consulting company.

At the same time, Kuyun predicts that liquefied gas will rise in price.

"There will indeed be a perception of an increase in price. But calculations show that liquefied gas will still retain its attractiveness and will be quite profitable for those who consume it", said Sergiy Kuyun.
  • Recall that on March 22, the government proposed a gradual increase in the excise tax on fuel until 2028. This will bring the excise tax rates closer to the minimum level set in the EU.
  • The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has registered a draft law in the Verkhovna Rada that provides for a significant increase in excise taxes on fuel.
